We got 6 buff orpington chicks at the beginning of the month and have been enjoying watching them grow.
They are already laying beautiful Easter eggs! (Just kidding!)

We are so grateful for our family members who came to visit this month and helped with this project and several others. Thank you!
And even in the middle of all this work on the guest house, we still have the gardens! We got most of the crops into the cold frames and the raised beds this month.
Of course, we still do live in Montana, which means that the weather can be unpredictable. April 28th brought us this:
We figured this was the universe's way to tell us to slow down, so we hunkered down at home on Sunday and did lots of baking, cleaning, sewing, organizing, TV-watching, reading, and other relaxing.
Unfortunately some of the hoop houses didn't hold up (due to the wind gusts) so we lost several plants. But most survived and they, like us, are looking forward to the sun and warmer temperatures that are in the forecast for May!
