May 2022 recap

We had a sloooooow warm-up this month. The days tended to be lovely when the sun was out, but still quite chilly on the frequently cloudy days.

We did lots of hiking this month, but also stayed close to home to enjoy the scenery here at Firetruck Farms.

Mike built two "chicken tractors" to help the chickens more deliberately work the soil. We move the tractors every night, and the chickens seem to be enjoying - or at least tolerating - it.

Mike has also been working on building a log cabin shed down by the garden. He felled the trees himself last year, and now he is working on getting the logs into place. It's slow going, but it looks great so far!

Finally, the bees seem to be settling in nicely so far!

Hope you all had a great May!
