March 2022 recap

March was a lovely month, notable for some extreme weather differentials. Once we went from 70 and sunny one day, to 30 and snowing the next! March was a lamb, then a lion, then a lamb, then a lion, then a lamb again :)

We also enjoyed seeing the bighorn sheep again.

I took a beekeeping class from the University of Montana, so I'm hoping I learned enough to keep our future bees going for at least a full year. (Past hives have maxed out at 9 months.) I cleaned out all the old hives and got them sorted/labeled for the bees we ordered. I also moved one of the hives to a new location with more southern exposure, so hopefully that helps as well. Our next bees should arrive by the end of April - wish me luck!

Our chickens have been laying up a storm recently. Unlike in winter when we got 1-2 eggs per day, we're now getting 10-12 per day! We can't keep up! If anyone local wants some happy eggs, let me know - we sell them for only $3/dzn.

Finally, we have the cabin open and ready to go for our first guests later in April! The dates are filling up, so make your reservations now if you'd like to stay with us this summer. :)

Happy April, everyone!

P.S. If anyone wants any Girl Scout cookies, we still have them for sale! Click HERE to place an order. No cats available with purchase, sorry ;)
