August 2020 recap

August was a busy month of harvesting, canning and chopping wood for the winter.

We have been loving our cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots this time year:

We've been chipping away at chopping wood and stacking it:

We put the finishing touches on the "tree mansion" project, which we are now using for homeschooling (at least while the weather stays nice):

The cats like to keep an eye on us when we're up in the tree mansion :)

We did, unfortunately, have several very smoky days, primarily due to the fires in California:

Thankfully the wind patterns changed and the air cleared relatively quickly. But the red flag warnings have been fairly continuous in August (and even into September) so we are looking forward to getting some precipitation and cooler weather this fall!

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

  1. The place looks so organized. Clearly the result of a lot of hard work.
