October 2021 recap

October held a few surprises for us!

Kiddo learned to take some awesome photos:

Mike made a meal almost 100% from our property - the venison, potatoes, carrots and beets were all harvested here! Only the wine and balsamic were store-bought.

We had some lovely mornings:

We visited the corn maze near our house:

We had a bountiful harvest:

We closed the rental down for the season:

I got to work from home for a couple days while I attended a virtual conference:

Mike had a SLIGHT mishap with a post pounder:

I had a lovely weekend away with a dear friend (during which time I found my new favorite restaurant - Gourmandise in SLC):

All the cats were happy when I made it home again safely:

Finally, we had a lovely time being dressed up by our kiddo and trick-or-treating at our own house. Kiddo made us our costumes - I was a cat, Mike was an Orca, and she was a red fox.

Happy start-to-the-holidays season!

September 2021 recap

September seemed to fly by! We spent the first week in northern Wisconsin for a family wedding, which was beautiful! We enjoyed being back in greenery, lakeside, and with deciduous trees.

But it was also wonderful to get back home! We were greeted by a stunning full rainbow the day after we returned. (Photos, of course, do not do it justice!)

We've continued to harvest the garden. Tomatoes, basil, carrots, beets, summer squash, and now pumpkins.

Mike even found a shed while he was out walking our property!

Finally, we have a new pet to add to our menagerie! Introducing FLICKER the baby bull snake. Kiddo is absolutely in love with him. As far as snakes go, I have to admit he's pretty cute!

 Happy October!
