Happy spring! We had a beautiful, fairly mild March up here on the mountain. Some of the highlights were:
1. Our chickens started laying in earnest! We are now getting about 9-10 eggs per day (as opposed to the 2-3 we got during the winter). Quality control is a little lacking in regards to size, but they all still taste delicious.
2. After the time change, we were able to resume our "postprandial stroll" tradition. We usually walk about .5-1.0 mile around our property after we eat diner, typically a big loop around the driveways and down to the garden.
3. Speaking of the gardens, Mike got all the veggies started! They are happily beginning to grow up in our greenhouse.
4. We enjoyed the views as a few quick rain storms passed through.
5. We completed the dreaded spring task of cleaning out the cistern for the guest house. It always feels good to get that one done and checked off the reopening to-do list!
The guest house reopens for the 2021 season on April 15th!
