Firetruck Farms Guest House: Now available for rent!

Now taking reservations!

Available through VRBO or AirBnB:

Wonderful mountain cabin minutes from some of finest fly fishing on the Missouri

Our guest house offers all the comforts of home, while also being off-grid. There is excellent cell reception, the kitchen is stocked with basic cookware, and the solar panels provide plenty of electricity. In the cooler months, the propane wall heater keeps the guest house cozy, and wood is available for purchase if you'd rather use the heating stove in the living room.
One bedroom offers a queen mattress, the other has two XL twin beds, and the living room sofa has a pull-out bed. There is plenty of space inside and out for relaxing and enjoying the scenic views and relaxing sounds of nature. Sit on the deck with your morning coffee and watch the eagles swoop through the canyon! Or stay up late to enjoy the unparalleled starry nights.
We are conveniently located equidistant from both Helena and Great Falls, making this the perfect spot for a quick getaway, or an excellent base camp as you enjoy all that the Big Belt Mountains have to offer.

May 2019

You know the phrase "April showers bring May flowers"?  Well, Mother Nature was apparently confused this year because we were stuck in a month of cool, dreary rain showers pretty much all month. We had a couple days of sun peak through, but you'll see a lot of clouds and fleece in this past month's photos.

As for the guest house, the deck is done except for the railing (which is in progress).

(Watch for a separate guest house post coming in the next couple weeks!!)

As for the pets, the chickens officially moved into their new coop.  Here it was being built:

And it is is all finished (except for the siding)!

Here's the view of the coop from the south looking north, showing off the huge picture window the chicks have to let in the warm southern sun in the winter.

And here's the view looking East, showing the "chicken owner" herding them into the coop at night.

And as for the garden, everything is now planted! We are up to our eyeballs in greens (lettuce, cabbage, swiss chard, etc.) so if anyone local wants to take some off our hands, please let us know!

Even with the dreary cold, it was still a beautiful month up here on the mountain! :)
